About me
A Problem-Solver at the Intersection of Economics and Engineering
I have been building models and experimenting with engineering projects since primary school. Over time, I became interested not only in how things work, but also in the practical constraints that determine whether an idea becomes useful.
Designing a school chair led me to think about ergonomics, materials, manufacturing costs, and why schools continue to buy similar products. Building a tennis ball feeder made me consider how expensive equipment can limit access to training. Developing an affordable medicine dispenser raised questions about the relationship between technology, cost, and healthcare access.
These experiences have drawn me toward economics and applied mathematics. I want to understand how individuals, firms, and markets make decisions, and how mathematical tools can help explain the outcomes.
My academic interests
Economics and applied mathematics, studied through the Cambridge International curriculum at Rak's Pallikkoodam, Coimbatore — and explored further through design projects, industry experience, and online courses.
How I approach problems
Identify a problem, understand the people affected, design a practical solution, test it, and then examine the economic forces that decide whether it can be adopted at scale.
Why Economics
Technical improvements are only part of a solution. Cost, accessibility, consumer behaviour, production, and purchasing decisions determine whether a good idea reaches the people it was meant for.
Why Applied Mathematics
Mathematics offers tools — optimisation, game theory, linear algebra, calculus — to describe how individuals, firms, and markets make decisions and to reason carefully about the outcomes.
My current learning journey
Online coursework in game theory, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra, alongside research into school seating and the link between trade and cross-border banking.
